AMSTERDAM, NETHERLANDS - 4 September 2012. Proxima, a leading provider of end-to-end procurement services to global, blue-chip corporations, today announced that it has signed a strategic procurement services contract for third-party expenditure with CSM.
The contract marks the beginning of a strategic relationship that will see Proxima manage CSM's third-party (indirect) expenditure across the company's European operations.
CSM selected Proxima for its depth and breadth of capability in Europe, drawing upon Proxima's extensive track record in the FMCG sector. Proxima will provide CSM with a full suite of procurement services for third-party expenditure.
This new contract provides further evidence of the changing role that procurement plays in executive decision making and increasing attention business leaders are giving organisational-wide procurement behaviours. Leading companies, such as CSM, are increasing their emphasis on procurement's ability to go beyond its traditional supply base focus, to influencing internal behaviours and working practices. Proxima has long advocated the potential benefits that can be unlocked through changing attitudes towards procurement, positioning it as a means by which return on investment and enhanced shareholder value can be generated.
Matthew Eatough, CEO of Proxima, commented:
"We are very excited to be embarking on this new partnership with CSM, through which we will work together to deliver significant benefits to its business and its shareholders. Proxima has a strong portfolio of blue-chip and highly respected, international clients and the signing of this contract illustrates how the procurement function has evolved into an integral management discipline for global businesses. It's a strong endorsement of the results we have delivered across our client portfolio and we look forward to delivering similarly strong ongoing benefits for CSM."
