ANNOUNCEMENT: buyingTeam to become Proxima

LONDON, 30 JANUARY 2012: buyingTeam, Europe'’s leading provider of end-to-end procurement services, announces today that it is to transition to a new brand and, from 20 February 2012, will be known as Proxima.

The move reflects the scope and range of services that the company now offers its portfolio of blue-chip, multi-national clients, driven by the growing importance that businesses place on procurement as a strategic corporate function in today’'s challenging economic environment. 

The new Proxima brand underlines the company'’s innovative thinking and approach, combining elements of its core activity - procurement - and the way it works with and on behalf of clients by incorporating the concepts of “'proximity'”, “'proxy'” and '“intimacy'”.  The name was developed through extensive consultation with a wide range of clients, suppliers and partners, all of whom agreed with the change and its timing.

Proxima’'s growth to date has been fuelled by the increasingly strategic role that the company plays within its clients'’ organisations.  Taking the procurement function beyond the traditional remit of cost savings to sit at the heart of an organisation'’s decision-making process, Proxima works with clients to enable change, enhance management control and visibility of costs, and transform buying behaviour. The results of this approach are sustained, long-term improvements to profitability and shareholder value for its clients.

Proxima achieves this by delivering the detailed, up-to-date knowledge across a wide range of specialist categories that few companies can maintain in-house. Proxima'’s innovative approach means it is ideally positioned to offer solutions that enhance operational and financial performance, even during the most challenging market conditions.

2012 also sees Proxima expanding its offering into the North American market.  With some large outsourcing assignments already underway in the United States, Proxima has a platform from which to grow its presence in the market and translate its track record of delivery for clients on both sides of the Atlantic.
